Founded in 1967 by Jack and Pansy Dickenson, our church began as the Full Gospel Church, gathering in homes and community centers throughout the Newton Aycliffe area. By 1986, as the congregation grew, the community rallied together to build a new dedicated church home, transforming into the Aycliffe Christian Life Centre.

As our congregation continued to expand, the need for a larger venue became clear, leading to the establishment of the Xcel Centre on Aycliffe Business Park in County Durham. This space not only became our home but also served as a conference facility and a day care nursery, enabling us to serve our community in a variety of meaningful ways.

In 2021, we experienced a pivotal moment when Xcel partnered with Glow Church in Australia, uniting our missions and visions, taking on the name Glow UK.

Glow Church was originally founded in 2013 on the Gold Coast, Australia, by Pastors Joel and Ellen Cave. What began as a small gathering quickly grew into one of the fastest-growing churches in Australia, impacting thousands through the life-changing message of Jesus and a commitment to REAL BOLD LOVE.

Whilst our name may have changed over the years, our heart and mission remains the same! Today, Glow Church stands as a testament to God’s faithfulness and continues to impact lives around the world.
